Terms of service

Last updated

The short version

  • Your order form and customer agreement with Saylia govern your use of the service. These terms add the rules that apply to everyone.
  • You decide which calls are recorded and which pages carry our tag, so telling callers and visitors, and getting any consent the law requires, is up to you.
  • Call analysis is automated and can be wrong. Check it before you rely on it.
  • Tracking numbers only receive and forward calls. They can’t call emergency services.
  • Your call data is yours, and you can export it at any time.

Your agreement with us

Saylia is provided to businesses under an order form and customer agreement signed with each customer. Those documents set out the service, fees, data protection terms, service commitments and each side’s responsibilities. If they say something different from this page, they win.

To see our standard agreement before you sign, or to get a copy of the one that applies to your account, write to sales@saylia.com.

If you’re an agency, you can manage Saylia for your clients. You’re responsible for having their permission to do so, and for making sure these terms are followed in their accounts.

Recording calls

Recording is on for new tracking numbers until you turn it off. Many places require callers to be told that a call is recorded, and some require everyone on the call to agree. Saylia can play a recording announcement to callers before they’re connected. It is off until you turn it on for each tracking number, and you can replace our standard message with your own words or recording.

You’re responsible for knowing the rules where your callers are, and for turning on the announcement or turning off recording wherever they require it.

Tracking on your website

When you add Saylia’s tracking tag or web beacon to your website, they collect the information described in our privacy policy. That includes what visitors type into forms on your pages. Password fields are never read, and card and Social Security numbers are removed in the browser, but other entries are sent as typed.

You agree to:

  • Tell your visitors about it in your own privacy notice, and get any cookie or tracking consent the law requires.
  • Leave the tag and beacon off forms that collect health details, financial account details or other sensitive information.
  • Keep sensitive information out of your page addresses, since the full address of each landing page is kept.

Call analysis

Saylia transcribes recorded calls and analyzes them automatically, for example to decide whether a call was qualified or booked. That analysis can be wrong. You’re responsible for the decisions you make with it, including what you send to advertising platforms and any decisions about your staff.

Advertising platforms

When you connect an advertising account, Saylia sends it conversions on your behalf. You’re responsible for having the right to use that account, and for following the platform’s own policies on what you send it. Each platform handles what it receives under its own terms.

Tracking numbers

Tracking numbers receive calls and forward them to the destinations you set. They can’t place calls, and they can’t be used to reach emergency services, so never publish one as a way to get emergency help.

Numbers are provided as part of the service and stay ours. When you remove a number or your agreement ends, the number comes back to us, and after a waiting period we may assign it to another customer. If you want to keep a number when you leave Saylia, ask us before your agreement ends.

Your data

You own the call and visitor information collected for your business. You can export calls as a CSV file from Reports (up to 10,000 calls per export), and receive them as they happen through webhooks and the API. Our privacy policy explains how we handle this information, and your agreement sets out how it is handled when you leave.

Acceptable use

Everyone who uses Saylia agrees not to use it to:

  • Break any law, including laws on call recording, consent, telemarketing, privacy and consumer protection.
  • Run robocalls, spam, fraud or harassment, or impersonate someone else.
  • Collect payment card numbers, health details or other sensitive information in ways the law doesn’t allow.
  • Send conversion data to advertising platforms in breach of those platforms’ policies.
  • Interfere with Saylia, probe it for weaknesses without permission, or get around its limits or security.

We may suspend numbers or accounts used in these ways. If you believe someone is misusing Saylia, tell us at support@saylia.com. To report a security issue, write to security@saylia.com.
