Call tracking

Every call, traced back to where it came from.

Dynamic numbers for your website, static numbers for everywhere else, and Google call ads. Each call arrives knowing its source and, when it came from a click, its campaign, landing page and click ID.

Every way in

Three ways calls reach you. All three are tracked.

Most call tracking stops at your website. Callers don’t.

  • Your website

One tag swaps your number for a tracking number from a pool, one per visitor, so the call ties back to that visit’s source, keyword and landing page.

    Install the tag
  • Google call ads

Calls placed straight from your ads are tracked by campaign, and their outcomes go back to Google Ads.

    Read the guide
  • Everywhere else

Static numbers for Google Business Profile, directories, email, print and offline. Each one reports as the source and medium you choose.

Dynamic number insertion

Number swapping that holds up under real traffic.

The details that decide whether a call is credited to the right ad or lands in “direct”.

  • One visitor, one number

Each visitor holds their number for the whole session, plus a short reuse delay before anyone else is shown it.

  • 72 hours of memory

People call back later. A number keeps its last visitor’s attribution for 72 hours after their session ends.

  • Never a dead end

Every pool has an overflow number and every account can have a fallback. If the tag can’t run, your page keeps its own number.

  • Bot-aware

Crawlers get no swap. Suspected automation and datacenter traffic get the overflow number, and none of it counts toward pool size.

  • Pools for the traffic you pay for

Serve a pool to paid clicks from Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising, to chosen landing pages or URL parameters, or to visitors from chosen countries.

  • Built for modern sites

Swaps visible numbers and tel: links in your page’s own format, and keeps up with single-page apps.

  • Pools sized from your traffic

A size recommendation from a typical busy hour, not your single busiest one. Nothing is bought until you press the button.

  • Your domains only

The tag only swaps on domains you’ve approved. If it turns up anywhere else, that domain is listed for you to approve or ignore.

What each call carries

The whole visit, attached to the call.

Campaign tags, every major click ID and the visit itself are kept with the call. You choose which extra URL parameters a pool keeps as their own fields.

Attribution

Honest attribution, recorded on every call.

Every call records how it was matched, so you know which numbers to trust. Repeat callers are flagged, duplicate calls are flagged inside 30 minutes by default or a window you set, and each call is stamped with the channel your rules gave it when it rang.

Session
Called the number shown during an active visit.
Residual
Called that number within 72 hours after the visit ended.
Static
Called a fixed number: your profile, a listing, print or email.
None
No visit or source to match. Counted, and never guessed at.

Reporting

Reports that answer the question you actually asked.

Which campaign, which keyword, which page. Filter it your way and take it with you.

  • Dashboard

Total, answered and missed calls, answer rate, average length, volume over time and the sources behind it.

  • Activity log

Search every call and filter by status, campaign, number, tag, source, medium, channel, caller state or date. Calls in progress show live.

  • Reports

Calls grouped by campaign, source, medium, keyword, referrer or landing page, with every filter carried into the CSV export.

  • Caller journeys

Open a call to see the channels and pages the caller moved through before they picked up the phone.

  • Tags and notes

Tag calls one at a time or in bulk, add notes, filter by tag and search your notes.

  • Nine channels, your rules

Paid and organic search, paid and organic social, referral, direct, email, display and other — mapped by rules you can set for a client or your whole agency.

Questions, answered

Will dynamic numbers hurt my local SEO?
No. The swap happens in the visitor’s browser after the page loads. Your page’s HTML keeps your main number, so search engines and directories see one consistent number, and self-identified crawlers are never shown a tracking number.
How many tracking numbers do I need?
Enough for the visitors on your site at the same time during a typical busy hour. Saylia recommends a pool size from your own traffic, and every pool has an overflow number, so no visitor is ever left without one.
What happens if the tag can’t load?
Your page keeps its original number. Nothing breaks; that visit just isn’t tracked.
Can I track calls from Google call ads?
Yes. Calls placed straight from your ads are tracked by campaign, and their outcomes go back to Google Ads. See the setup guide.
How should I track Google Business Profile calls?
Use a tracking number as the profile’s primary phone and keep your main number as an additional phone, so your listings stay consistent everywhere.
Do I need to change my website?
Only to add one tag to your site’s <head>. Numbers in text and tel: links are swapped automatically. See installing the tracking tag.
